Gorse hedge plants (Ulex europaeus) are a dense, thorny evergreen shrub tolerant of all soils and the bleakest of windswept costal situations. Gorse Shrubs display bright yellow fragrant flowers from March to May and often up to late summer, offering a feast of colour from the fragrant pea-like vibrant yellow flowers. Gorse is frequently used on golf courses and also can be used to create a dense, highly effective security barrier. It has vicious thorns which are totally intruder proof. Gorse is a slow growing shrub, only growing 15-30cm per year. When cut, Gorse provides nutritious animal feed.
