Amelanchier  lamarckii is a beautiful , small but hardy deciduous shrub with sprays of star-like white flowers in the spring.  Overall a winner always producing a pleasing display of flowers, berries and leaves throughout the year.

Amelanchier is a known as the June berry, has naturalised from Northern Europe.  Amelanchier, or known as snowy mespilus in spring produces bronzed tinged new leaves, which turn rich red in Autumn. The berries are reddish purple, (suitable for jam making) and birds love them.

Amelanchier Standard Shrubs are happy in most soils and can be used as part of an informal hedge or as a specimen plant.

Amelanchier plants like fertile , moist well drained soils.

When pruning remove the cross or damaged branches.
