ESCALLONIA

Escallonia is a versatile fast growing evergreen shrub and hedging plant. Glossy dark green leaves forming a dense hedge up to 3m high. Escallonia hedge plants are tolerant of most soils including coastal situations. Flowers white, pink or red (dependent on variety) from June – September.

Escallonia is one of the few hedges which will produce a good show of blossoms even if regularly clipped, plus they respond very well to clipping and flower continuously from early summer to mid autumn.

• Flowers can be White, Pink and Crimson
• Soil preference: Moist, well drained soils
• Likes full sun or partial shade
• Suitable for Coastal locations
• Trimming is recommended in Spring and Summer
• Average growth rate 30-45cms/year
