Amelanchier, or Snowy Mespilus, is a beautiful deciduous shrub with sprays of star-like white flowers in the spring. The autumn leaves of the Snowy Mespilus turn a bright bronzy red colour giving a good display. The fruit sa red to dark purple-black berry, soon eaten by bird.

Amelanchier is happy in most soils and can be used as part of an informal hedge or as a specimen plant.

Amelanchier plants are tolerant of wet soils, and are ideal for hedging and screens - they are generally pest free, and require low maintenance.
