The Ramanas Rose (Rosa rugosa) is a shrubby suckering deciduous plant. It has prickles and is therefore useful for creating a security barrier.
The Ramanas Rose bears beautiful scented deep pink or white flowers throughout the summer turning to bright red rosehips in the autumn.
Planted either within a mixed hedge or on its own the Ramanas Rose is a valuable addition to an informal setting. Mixed native hedgerows are excellent for attracting birds and other wildlife as they play host to insects, berries and other sources of food for wildlife. Native mixed hedges also offer winter protection for birds.
The Ramanas Rose is tolerant of most soils.
